Summer Science Camp In-Person
Elementary and Middle School students are invited to join the Oak View Summer Science Camp on Tuesdays from 3:30 pm to 5 pm. We will be doing experiments and games focused on energy topics. The goal would be to teach the students about clean energy and sustainability through fun activities and experiments.
- Some experimental ideas would include:
- Building little electric motors using paperclips, batteries, and small solar cells
- Splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen.
- Some simple game/activities would include:
- A modified version of red rover or guppies and minnows related to how a battery operates.
- Building chemical elements with clay/straws.
The Oak View Summer Science Camp is sponsored by the School of Engineering of the University of California - Irvine (UCI).
