POSTPONED: Teen Craft: Crochet Star Keychains In-Person
This event is postponed - registrants will be contacted with the updated date and time for the class once our teen volunteer instructor is well again. :) Thank you so much for your patience and understanding!
Teens ages 13 - 17 are welcome to join us for a special crafting workshop taught by teen volunteer & crochet expert, Sydney! In this workshop for beginners, Sydney will walk you through the basics of crochet as a hobby, and will guide participants in learning all the crochet stitches you need to craft a plush star keychain to take home. All materials are provided, and no experience is needed - just a willingness to learn!
What is "Teens Teach"?
Teens Teach is a volunteer program that offers teens ages 14+ the opportunity to show off their expertise by partnering with the library to teach others the basics of a favorite hobby or special skill. Participating volunteers will not only gain valuable leadership experience and presentation skills, but will also develop project management and time management skills as they work alongisde our Teen Librarian to refine, plan, and present their library program - all while having fun and earning volunteer credit. If you've got a fantastic idea for your own future library program or workshop, contact Teen Librarian Christany at christany.edwards@surfcity-hb.org.
