Life Skills for Teens: Ending The Silence with NAMI OC

Life Skills for Teens: Ending The Silence with NAMI OC In-Person

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and in this hands-on workshop presented by the Orange County branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, teens ages 14 - 18 will learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what steps to take if you or a loved one are showing symptoms of a mental illness. Participants will also craft their own self care plan, and learn how to manage symptoms of everyday stress and anxiety.

Life Skills for Teens is a monthly program series offered by HBPL Teen Services designed to give high school aged teens ages 14 - 18 an opportunity to learn important skills they may have missed out on learning elsewhere - like first aid, money management, car care, and more! Our Life Skills courses support and prepare teens for their lives after high school - in college, career, or adulthood beyond.

For each monthly session a student attends, they will receive volunteer service credit from the Huntington Beach Public Library in return for their attendance and participation in these events.
