Live Raptor Presentation with the Orange County Bird of Prey Center

Live Raptor Presentation with the Orange County Bird of Prey Center In-Person

Join HBPL and the OC Bird of Prey Center team to learn about local raptor populations in this 45-minute educational talk featuring live birds!

You'll learn about the OC Bird of Prey Center and its work as a local nonprofit, plus you'll get to meet three of their resident rehabilitated animal ambassadors: Tweek, the Great Horned Owl; Quest, the American Kestrel; and Hank, the Red-Tailed Hawk.

Raptors are also known as "birds of prey." They are, as a whole, wild, carnivorous birds who prey on other animals. Birds of prey have many identifying features and adaptations that fit their behavioral ecology. Binocular vision gives them depth perception during their hunts for food. Raptors' strong grasping feet with sharp talons allow them to swoop down, grab, and hold onto prey. And their hooked upper beaks tear and kill prey from the ground or trees. Learn about these adaptations and more in this entertaining and educational event for all ages.

Seating capacity for this exciting live animal program is limited; registration is required.
This program is open to adults, teens, and children ages 8+ with adult supervision.
